The Babylon Island
The newly wed, sickly, and the dying
Up in a Babylon Island in the sky
Reaching up with useless gazing
To kiss the stars that elude them every night
Do you need petty riches?
Do you require emotional stitches?
I'm afraid I'd like to be your kind
I'm afraid no one living has the time
Fell off the bed and never took up
The reason for waking with your current mind
One in all or all as one?
Do you know the place away from the sun?
The newly wed, sickly, and the dying
Up in a Babylon Island in the sky
Reaching up with hopeful flying
To kiss the stars that elude them every night
You live in a shattered time weave
Do you really live for what you believe?
I'm afraid I'd like a piece of your mind
I'm afraid no one dying is so kind
The newly wed, sickly, and the dying
Up in a Babylon Island in the sky
One in all or all as one?
Whisper the place away from the sun

Hermlaise (Up In The Maritimes)
Hermlaise!
The sun maid
A sailor smile to make it all worthwhile
A traitor or two along the treasure mile
A frigate blowing in the maritimes
A crystal sky over the hunt for limes
Red and white stripes for the sails we soar
No need for grief when we've a door
To the sunrise
Hermlaise!
The sun maid
Walk on a plank if you choose to dare
Jump into the water without much care
An orange captain of the merry brigade
We're kept in check by our caring maid
Then we wonder to the pier of Corozal
Drinking mango rum with our newfound pals
We'll venture out
Hermlaise!
The sun maid
Tropic palms with starlit helms
Scream the wind with a seaside shell
The neon plateau that we walk upon
Skim on water in the cobalt pond
The reef takes us to the cherry maze
With sunlight skipping on a coral glaze
O, Captain!
Hermlaise!
The sun maid
Hermlaise!
The sun maid
No time to steer
We live by ear
What we've made
Is the dream brigade!

The Art Project (On Weekends We Starve Ourselves)
Always in your room
Bringing other things to life
Don't bother to groom
The only thing you sculpt is your mind
You sound like a painter
But you look like a dreamer in bonds
Don't ever savor
You move too fast, your appetite's gone
You dance and chant about your color,
Please don't lie
You don't kiss Lady Soul much
So they ask the wrong question, "why?"
Don't have much reason
To show your lust to everyone else
Anything else is just treason
To who you said you were to yourself
What's the paint in this?
The walls still listen to what you've done
You've spat out a masterpiece
Without much need or push from the sun
You suffer, and no one told you to
Now that's a great joke
I assure you your smile
Although you'll choke behind the lines in the smoke
(I know)
                                           That you're feeling awful jaded
(That you don't know)

Exit Stage
You walk away from all those watered eyes
They move too fast for you to account in time
You take your time again to write your fear
Of all the paint splashes put on your limelight
You wrote for yourself like a garden gnome
Wishing to let them borrow what no one shows
But when you saw that they got the wrong tone
You blew your imagination out at the window
Is it the words that I wrote
That had you going back home?
Was I a one-trick show
That had you gawking along?
And when I'm having my way
I'm just a star imploding upon itself
I entertain all your ways
But I can't change myself for anyone else
And thus, the curtain calls
I let my dreams spill out on every page
Swept in them like a room for too many days
I didn't want to put the world in trance
I just wanted a bigger place to dance
So, tell me friend, if you've got any time
Tell me if you see more than a pretty dime
And we'd go so far to forget ourselves
So we can see more than the frames on the shelves
Is it the words that I wrote

Millenia's Transmission
I ponder how they do
Can they hear me on channel two
I learned, all my life
I'll float, that's quite fine
If only the loveless void, so paranoid
Would talk to me, and say goodnight
Don't take this as regret for leaving
It amazes me how small you are from here
If I could take you
On a wondrous trip, I wouldn't
The smog looks bad enough from here, a single tear
The constellations fear you
Keep on with your hungry children
Demand god to save your bloodied men
As I dream of home
You look up and alone
The void won't care for any truth, for the likes of you
Good luck, when its all due

Sticks for bones, and stuttered pulsers
Well, he's got a pretty face
Eyes could kill a loyal maid
No conviction
But mind's self-destruction
How could an angel fall so?
Have bones for wings, then you'll know
He downs one whole cigarette
He jumps off the minaret
He checks for success yet
He still plays a cabaret
He sweats blood on the floor
He pukes till he's red-sore
He's twitching, he's flailing
But his mind, its sailing
You'd best stay away from him
He's the SkeleTinman
A heart pumped with tin
Only needles feel this man
Masochistic martyr
"King of his genre" man
Sold his heart to fodder
Blinded by the stars he can't reach
What a leech
An angular face
All veins and bones are all his base
The lifeline of an abstract paint
His color splashed, and we abstain
Breaking glass herds
With the pattern of a painter
A monotonous escapade
His act is gone, behold his charade
Scratchings on doorknobs
Smashed stained-glass windows
The writings of past loves

The Back Of A Mind, In Five Years' Time
May he submit his truest fear?
The kind that withers into one's spine
For all his ventures, and all his color
There is one thing he could not find
Would you guess, and play this game of man?
Trivialize him into a fact, or a song!
Fruitless, you will be, unlike his mind
He could not bear your answer for long
You see: he flies and he is well
He sees: only flies and bothersome dreams
You see: his ventures as a lonely dust
He sees: his truth, which is not as it seems
Truth, the obsolete, the sordid word
For it claims to deny anything but
You hang on to it, to define the worlds
That he wrote himself, like the galaxy's mutt
So you scream, and you whore, for the words that he sold
To portray him well, out of lust or pity
"The Caricature of the New Age Think"
The medium is lost, for a name in the city
So they'll point their fingers, at the primary antagonist

Neons And Gutters

With fists upon each other
A self-appeaser, a demonizer
With a picture of Christ in the corner
A junkie posing as a mannequin
For the lost kids from the suburbs
A rockstar singing testimonies
To its significant others
Careful, they might criticize your point of view
Its just the neons and gutters
The mundane-marveled life
The signs only omit what you realize
Its how we deal with each other
Its how we share our beds
With the promise that we're stars, no less
Its not a sign
Radio beats on null-head streets
And monotonous synchronizing
People pummel oil drums
Emphasize on heavy flooding
The local drug store is the place
For sanity verification
Latex gloves deem what we'll find
In the underbelly of this nation
Careful, they might criticize your point of view
Its just the neons and gutters
The written, free life
We see it all, but thats not realized
Why do we act as fodder?
Its how we share our beds
With the promise that we'll come back to a care

Oh, Vanity
Oh Vanity, take a rest
As I caress you on your little, sweet breast
Oh Vanity, take a breather
You're far too taxing on the lungs of a dreamer
Oh Vanity, won't you mind
If I take a dance in the starlight
Hope my lover thinks I dance alright under a pale sky
But Vanity
There's that thing about you that makes me so insecure
I don't know what I'm living for, against the breeze of today
I will keep you beneath my skin.
Oh Vanity, can't you hear
All the snickers past our head and feet,
Paving our path to the bathroom stall
Its not fair at all, I know
Oh Vanity, won't you just smile?
Make these agonizing moments allude as worthwhile
Jumping from the mirror, that's where you come from
I can't seem to hate you enough
Vanity, won't you strive?
Strive to be better for me
For what are we,
When I'm no better for them?
You halt and beg, dear friend
I'm sure you'll never know me for who I aim to be
These tenures that you put me through
I'm bettering myself for you

Farewell, Peculiar
On the day of resolution
I found the ugliest thing
Came neatly with a promised ring
And good wills that mean less than what vultures sing
As I turn, so twisted, grotesque
I find an answer, no less
A bastardized painting of my childhood
An alien dream from the little boy that could
What can I say, this sight is so queer
The most irate, primate, human fear
A maximan race hating just themselves
God help homo sapiens, I wish
In unsanitary lust, they find trust in omnipotence
Of which they can't put a face, except that of old fate
As the howlers and children all take down their banner
Of unity, humanity, man
No place for a wistful, an innocence
This is pitiful for god's creation
Cavemen in rubber suits
People bent down under time's noose
No more white picket fences
No more smiles under suckle and trees
The graying of grass as you look to space
Don't catch up, dear, you'll kill your race
You want to explore, don't you dreamer?
But you, you've been raised a killer
You will harvest the manifes

When In Bohemian
When in Bohemian, she screams about
Her pastures green, but never to me
So never have I known, that the world listens too
When in Bohemian, I see she belongs
But never conforms, that's the beauty of
This nomad world, I'm glad she found it too
So run! She wants to run again
You vagabond, you're well-spent
Bohemian tendencies says, you can't stay long
These kinds of commons, you won't ever get along
Bohemian, its such a release
Materialistic animosity
The speed of life has no value, like dollar signs
When in Bohemian, she dabbles in art
Of all visage, enema of the heart
Wanderer, she's spent so much but there's that bliss in the air
So smile! Its all sorts of worthwhile
To see a world and not fret so much
Bohemian tendencies says, be spectacular
Before the nebula men steal your fur
When in Bohemian, you dream a kite
As your taxi, you can't walk all the time
Travel hills of puce-mauve sands, the world in trance
Bohemian, the thinking of
All dreaming thoughts, and loves begot

A Winter Kitchen
I'm so tired, running away
To a New York street in the fray
But fret as its cold
Who could bear to sleep alone, in a home?
Pay my debts off, I'm getting by
Money talks and I'm telling lies
But its just nature, we'll never stop for yellow lights
It's not a sign that we're losing our way
Week for the drugstore, I see a face
All too familiarly replaced
That's how I know this city
For its gross, amazing change, sculpting today
Never settled, never asked why
Transit speeds too fast to remember doors
I have money I abuse, I've never seen it before
Love's labor chore
Hell freezes nowhere
Money is everywhere
Homes don't move at speeds of life
And that's a sign.

In Venus' Starlight
In Venus' starlight
I see my own dear fright
I see your reflection
Seeping into the stars
In Venus' starlight
Hush, the moon open its ear
The stars are rather shy, yet they shine
They'd rather you don't come near
In Venus' starlight
We're breathing all just the same
The stars align their scars
And call by your last name
Bigots, believers, bovinity
There's no such thing as vivid make-believe
Denouncers, dreamers, gazerby
There's so much more than a wispy sky
The starmen await your ears
In Venus' starlight
You look away to lunar dreams
Mineral profit in rocks
A very efficient plague
In Venus' starlight
Forget about notions of faith
Explore on the behalf of humanity
If you've no other reason to escape
In Venus' starlight
The sand takes a dramatic pose
The trees, deceitful, the cattle are poisoned
The spaceboys are speaking in prose
What you don't believe in, is always out there
Until you have felt its absence like air
You've not seen it all, you won't see it then
Its all you've got, so lo

In A Fuchsia Sky, You Rest
When you refuse the point of feeling
Isn't it wonderful?
You don't need to make a killing
Don't be a mummy, stiff and stressed, full
Of mechanical aspirations
Always looking much too far
You don't need to be the king of a nation
Just keep your dream of the men in Mars
Find the image in a paragraph
Of singing birds flying south
All the stars in their right place
A constellation just for you
A cacti blowing by a tree
Beside a sunset that whispers and teems
Puce-colored trees blowing freely
In a fuchsia sky with tangerine pints
The final name of this piece is sweet release
And you'll thank me for it
Slow your restless, twitching, maroon eyes
Slur it all to silence
This is your last word written for tonight
You've earned your rest
So go easy
Dream well.

When Its Raining From The Sun
When its raining from the sun
Why don't we just get along?
When the end strolls by along
Can't the world just find a song?
Throw away the needs of desire
But don't cast yourself to fire
If you could do so much as smile
That would make our time worthwhile
We ought to laugh every now and then
Its the symphony of humans
Don't let these borders undermine your love
When we're fodder to the sun above
When its raining from the sun
Why don't we just get along?
When the end strolls by along
Can't the world just find a song?
We're all crawling as the sick or dying
Could you live with yourself like that?
Burning off your sympathy
Acting as if you've ever had one
So tell me friend, when it comes to a head
Would you throw out a weary hand?
Despite it taking all this, I must say
That nothing is best left planned
When its raining from the sun
Why don't we just get along?
When the end strolls by along
Can't the world just find a song?
Don't let those wide-eyed fools die in vain
Or let humanity become

Interests
Been a month and a bit since I made my account on this site, and I couldn't be happier with how its going. I'm actually getting feedback on my literature, and its able to reach more people that actually have the time to read it. While I might never make a full-time career out of this, I'm just glad that my art is a bit more visible now :) On to the second topic, its my birthday! So, to make up for my laziness during spring break, I'll be back on a more consistent schedule, hopefully maintaining it through the next breaks. Many thanks to my watchers and the people that have read my stuff, you're making this boy very happy.
